We serve prepackaged novelty ice cream, including classic ice cream sandwiches, cones, character treats, popsicles and more. Check out our Ice Cream page for a sample of what we typically carry. Availability may vary.
Yes! We always carry gluten-free, dairy-free and nut-free options. Sugar-free treats are available with prior arrangement, so just let us know when booking if you’ll need them.
Easy! Just fill out the request form on our Contact page. We usually reply within 48 hours—be sure to check your Spam or Junk folder in case we sneak in there!
Yep - In fact, we appreciate it if you do! Visit our Calendar page for a peek at upcoming events. It doesn’t show every single booking (we like to keep some surprises!), but it’s a great way to get a general idea before you fill out the form. If your date looks open—go for it!
We open up booking each year in March for new customers, and our returning customers get early access for larger events starting in January.
Heads up: We don’t book into the following calendar year—one season at a time!
Depending on your event size, we may require a deposit to lock it in. We’ll let you know when you reach out.
That depends on the crowd! Most events run between 30 to 90 minutes—we stay until everyone’s treated or your time is up!
Totally! Let us know your favorites and we’ll do our best to stock them—just remember, availability can vary.
Life happens—we get it! Just give us as much notice as humanly possible and we’ll do our best to accommodate changes to time, guest count, or location.
Absolutely! We love repeat visits—think summer camps, school weeks, or themed events. Let’s make it a thing!
Let us know as soon as possible! If you cancel less than 7 days before your event, a cancellation fee may apply. Deposits are non-refundable, but may be applied to a rescheduled date within the same calendar year. Rescheduling is subject to Dottie’s availability.
Our smallest package for 2027 is $129, which includes 20 prepackaged treats and up to 30 minutes of service—or until all guests are served, whichever comes first. That price applies to locations within 10 miles of Gray, Maine.
We always bring extra stock just in case! If more people show up than expected, we’ll keep serving until your prepaid amount runs out, or you can authorize additional charges on the spot. It's better to underestimate in most cases.
Logistics & Setup
Our truck is a Nissan NV2500 with a rooftop AC unit, so we need about 25 feet long, 10 feet tall, and 8 feet wide—plus a reasonably flat and safe spot to park and serve.
Nope! We’re completely self-contained. No cords, no hoses, just smiles and treats wherever we roll in.
If your event is at a park, beach, or public spot, you’re in charge of checking with the town or city about permits. Private locations typically don’t need one.
Absolutely - if you want us to! We love the classic ice cream truck experience, jingle and all. If you’d prefer a quieter arrival, just let us know and we’ll skip the music.
We do! Napkins are always available, along with spoons or straws for treats that need them. We just ask that the host provide a place for guests to toss their wrappers and handle trash collection after the event.

Before we roll away! Payment is due on or before your event day, and must be completed before service ends unless we’ve arranged something different in writing.
We’re flexible! Cash, credit cards, Venmo, and business checks (with prior okay) are all accepted.
Events more than 10 miles from Harrison, Maine (04040) may include a travel fee. Reach out and we’ll give you a heads-up if it applies.
Absolutely! If your school, business or organization needs a W-9 for vendor setup or payment processing, just let us know and we’ll be happy to provide one.

Almost! Dottie’s is a great fit for birthdays, weddings, employee events, schools, summer camps, fairs, festivals, senior and assisted living communities, neighborhood gatherings, and plenty of other celebrations. We’ve even been honored to serve at celebrations of life. Big event, small gathering, or just a random Tuesday—if ice cream sounds like a good addition, reach out and tell us what you have in mind!
Yes, yes, yes! We love visiting schools, summer camps and recreation programs and we especially love becoming part of the routine with weekly or recurring visits throughout the season. We’re licensed, insured, and love working with kids. Bonus points if we get to play our jingle!

Yes! You can pay in advance for a set number of treats or hand out vouchers or tickets for guests to redeem, it’s totally up to you. We love it when customers get creative and make their own custom tickets, it adds to the fun!
We hope so! As Dottie’s settles into our new home base in Harrison, we’re exploring neighborhood routes in the area. Have a neighborhood you think we should visit? Let us know! We can’t promise when or where we’ll make the rounds, but we’d love to hear your suggestions. And if you hear the jingle… you know what to do.
Policies & Other Things to Know
Legal & Safety
Yes! We carry full liability insurance and can provide a certificate upon request. We’re happy to send it along if your venue or organization requires it.
We recommend estimating a little low rather than high—we bring plenty of extra treats, so if more guests show up, we’ve got you covered! If fewer guests attend than expected, there are no refunds for unused treats, but any extras you’ve purchased are yours to keep, share, or donate to our Pay It Forward program. If you’d like to take them with you, just let us know before your scheduled end time so we can have them packed and ready to go.
Rain or shine, we show up! If weather is dangerous or the setup won’t work, we’ll do our best to reschedule.
We may snap a few photos to share on our social media. If you’d rather keep your event private, just let us know, we’re happy to respect that.
